From Self-Doubt to Self-Trust - A Writer's Energy Practice

My Practice
My Practice

My self-doubt shows up as procrastination. I take a long time getting things done because I'm terrified of being disappointed if they don't work out, don't happen, or don't manifest the way I envision.

It's like sticking my foot out in front of myself—creating my own obstacle before anyone else has the chance to.

But I learned to trust myself as a writer when I began sharing my stories at readings across NYC. They were always met with awe and applause. People didn't just hear my words; they felt them. That's when I realized my voice mattered, even when I doubted it.

💫 A Reiki Moment: Solar Plexus Confidence

Your solar plexus chakra, located above your stomach, governs personal power and self-confidence. When self-doubt creeps in, this energy center needs strengthening.

Place both hands over your upper abdomen. Breathe deeply into this space and feel it expanding with each inhale. Imagine a bright yellow light growing stronger with each breath.

Repeat to yourself:

"I trust my voice. I trust my story. I trust my power to create."

Hold this space until you feel that inner confidence settling into your bones.

📝 Words of Encouragement

Self-doubt is you sticking your foot out in front of yourself. When you recognize your self-worth in your words, you become a powerful example to everyone around you.

Your voice doesn't need to sound like anyone else's to matter. Your story doesn't need to be perfect to be powerful. Your words don't need everyone's approval to be valuable.

The world needs what you have to say—not a polished, perfect version of it, but the real, honest, imperfect truth of your experience.

Trust yourself enough to share it.

✨ Put It Into Practice

🖊️ Prompt: Write about a time when you trusted yourself and it worked out. How did it feel in your body? What did you learn about your own capabilities?

Then write: "If I fully trusted myself as a writer, what would I create next?"

Let yourself dream on paper. Your self-trust grows stronger every time you honor it with action.
