Because How You Begin Your Day Shapes the Way You Move Through It

Before I answer a text, check my email, or step into the world—I sit.
I give myself Reiki. I breathe. I listen. I let the quiet settle into my bones. Then I write.
This isn’t about productivity. It’s about presence. This is how I claim my energy before the world starts making demands on it.
Because if I don’t prioritize myself, who will?
These morning rituals—Reiki, meditation, writing—aren’t just good habits. They’re sacred practices. They remind me that I matter. My energy matters. My voice matters.
Even on the days when I wake up tired or distracted, I still return to this space. It sets the tone for how I show up—for others, yes, but most importantly, for myself.
💫 A Reiki Moment: Crown Chakra Connection
Mornings are ideal for nurturing the crown chakra, your energetic connection to divine guidance, intuition, and peace.
The Practice
Begin by placing your hands gently on top of your head.
Breathe deeply.
Picture a soft white or violet light above you.
Say to yourself: “Before I greet the world, I greet myself.”
Hold this space for 3-5 breaths
Then transition into writing, deeper breathing, or simply sitting in gratitude.
This is your morning altar—return to it often.
📝 Words of Encouragement: You Are Worth The Time
If you’re thinking, “I don’t have time for a morning ritual,” pause and ask yourself these deeper questions:
- Why not?
- Why don’t I make time for myself before making time for the world?
- Why does everything else get my attention before I do?
The truth? You don’t need an hour. You don’t need perfection. You just need intention.
Start with five quiet minutes:
- Close your eyes and place your hand on your heart
- Take three conscious breaths
- Write one sentence about how you want to feel today
- Light a candle or simply acknowledge your presence
This isn’t about doing it right. It’s about remembering you’re worth starting the day with.
✨ Put It Into Practice
🖊️ Prompt: If I gave myself the first 10 minutes of the day, how would I spend them?
Write down what your ideal morning feels like—not just what you’d do, but the energy and emotions you want to cultivate as your day begins.
Be specific: What would you see, hear, feel. How would your body feel? What thoughts would fill your mind? Then choose one small element from your vision to try tomorrow.
Just one.
