The Power of Writing Things Into Existence

Write into existence
Write into existence

I’ve written the kind of life I wanted before it ever existed.

I wrote about the kind of mother I’d be—playful, supportive, loving in ways that honored who my children were as individuals. I envisioned the laughter, the memories, the connection we’d share. And today? I have that.

I wrote about living a life where I wasn’t bound to a 9 to 5. I dreamed of waking up with freedom, moving through my day on my terms, doing meaningful work that aligned with my spirit. And now? That’s exactly where I find myself.

I didn’t just make a wish.I wrote it down. In detail. With feeling, with emotion, and with trust.

There is something transformative about declaring your desires in writing. It’s not about magic—it’s about movement. Writing is often the very first action we take toward a new reality.

💫 A Reiki Moment

The act of writing things into existence is an activation of your third eye chakra, the center of vision, intention, and inner knowing. When this energy is open, you don’t just see life as it is—you see it as it can be.

To open this energy, gently place your hands between your eyebrows. Inhale deeply and imagine a glowing indigo light. With each breath, let it sharpen your vision. Say to yourself:“I trust my vision. I call it into being.”

Let your writing that follows be bold, detailed, and heartfelt. Don’t just dream it—write it.

📝 Words of Encouragement

In one of my college classes, I end the semester by having students write their future lives as if it has already happened. I call this the "As If" essay. It’s one of the most transformative moments in the course. Their energy shifts. Their eyes light up.

Something moves inside them because they’re finally giving shape to what they want.

If you feel silly or doubtful, start small. Write about how you want to feel after your next event. Write about a simple joy you want to witness today. Ask to see a moment of kindness.

Because here’s the truth: doubt can’t live on the same street as faith. And writing is an act of faith.

✨ Put It Into Practice

🖊️ Prompt: If I were already living the life I want, what would my day look and feel like?

Write in the present tense as if it’s already real. Where do you wake up? What do you feel when you open your eyes? What do you do next? Describe the details with emotion and clarity. This isn’t “pretending.” It’s preparing.

📜 You don’t have to know how it’s all going to happen. You just have to believe you’re worthy of dreaming—and taking the first step. Often, that first step is a pen and a page.
