Creative block feels like I'm lost in myself—trying to release something that's not quite formed yet. Sometimes it's pure frustration, like being pregnant with words that won't come.
As a college writing instructor, I see this struggle in my students' bodies before they even speak. Their heads go down. They deflect. They won't make eye contact. The creative energy wants to flow, but something is blocking the channel.
That's when I learned that creativity isn't just mental—it's energetic. When we're blocked creatively, we're often blocked energetically. The good news is that Reiki can help clear those channels so words can flow again.
💫 A Reiki Moment: Sacral Chakra for Creative Flow
When creativity feels stuck, your sacral chakra—located just below your navel—needs attention. This is your center of creative and emotional expression.
Sit quietly and place both hands gently below your navel. Breathe deeply into this space and remind yourself:
"I am a creator because I was born from a creator."
Feel the warmth of your hands awakening this energy center. With each breath, imagine orange light expanding through your lower abdomen, clearing any blockages and inviting creative flow back into your life.
Stay here for 3-5 breaths, then move to your writing practice with trust that the words will come.
📝 Words of Encouragement
Creative blocks aren't permanent walls—they're temporary detours asking you to approach your work differently.
When you feel lost in yourself, remember that being lost sometimes means you're on the verge of finding something new. That frustration you feel is creative energy trying to move through you. Instead of fighting it, breathe with it.
Your creativity doesn't have to be perfect to be powerful. It doesn't have to be fully formed to be valuable. Sometimes the most honest writing comes from that messy, in-between space where you're still figuring things out.
Trust the process. Trust your voice. Trust that what wants to be written through you will find its way to the page.
✨ Put It Into Practice
🖊️ Prompt: Place your hands on your sacral chakra and breathe deeply for one minute. Then write: "What wants to be created through me right now?"
Don't think—just write. Let whatever comes up flow onto the page, even if it feels incomplete or unclear. Sometimes the act of writing is what helps the unclear become clear.
