Why You Should Keep a Joy Journal

💛 Chakra Focus: Solar Plexus — joy, confidence, self-worth

There’s so much noise in the world that it’s easy to forget the small, beautiful moments that hold us together.

While I’ve never kept a dedicated “joy journal,” I believe in its power. Writing down even the tiniest glimmers of joy—like an unexpected smile, a favorite song, or the way sunlight catches on leaves—can shift your focus from scarcity to abundance.

For me, when life feels heavy, I pause. I breathe. I laugh. I put on music. If I'm going out the door, I ask God to show me something kind in the world—and without fail, I see it: a stranger helping a mother, someone offering their seat, a quiet gesture of love in motion.

These are the reminders that I am seen and heard. A joy journal isn’t about ignoring your pain—it’s about giving your joy a place to live and grow.

💫 A Reiki Moment: Solar Plexus Activation

Your solar plexus energy center governs your sense of self and confidence. When you invite joy in, you're strengthening your belief that life can be good—even amidst challenges.

-Place both hands gently over your upper abdomen and close your eyes.

-Breathe deeply into this space.

-As you exhale, repeat: “Joy lives in me. I trust it will return.”

-Let this practice clear any lingering self-doubt or heaviness.

Your joy deserves space.

📝 Words of Encouragement

Joy doesn’t need a reason. It doesn’t have to be big, loud, or Instagram-worthy. It just has to be noticed.

You are already surrounded by blessings. Even on difficult days, your ability to pause and witness beauty is sacred. Grace lives in the spaces between moments. You’re not behind—you’re blooming in your own time.

So, today, take the pressure off. Write about what feels good—even if it’s just a warm cup of tea or a funny memory. Joy doesn’t demand perfection. It only asks that you show up with your heart open.

✨ Put It Into Practice

🖊️ Prompt: What brought me a moment of light this week?

Spend 10–15 minutes reflecting on the little things: a song, a hug, a kind word, or a moment of peace. Let these memories take up space on the page—and in your heart.
